What it is

Coming soon on the Messaging tab means the messaging apps exist and work, but they are switched off for this deployment of Agentency. The catalogue stays visible and the cards do not open a credential form.

It is not a broken chatbot, it is not something you misconfigured, and it is not the same as the Free-plan gate — that one is an upgrade notice, and upgrading fixes it. Coming soon is a rollout state that Agentency controls centrally. There is no toggle on your account, no setting buried in your profile, and nothing support can flip for one workspace.

When you would use it

Use this page when you need a straight answer for a colleague or a customer who saw WhatsApp promised somewhere and wants to know why it is not in the dashboard.

Where to find it

Open Dashboard → Chatbots → your chatbot → Integrations → Messaging (?tab=messaging). The notice sits above the grid; open any card and the drawer says the same thing instead of showing fields.

Steps

  1. Open Integrations → Messaging and read the notice above the grid. Confirm it is the Coming soon wording rather than the upgrade wording — Messaging channels availability shows both side by side.
  2. Copy the Direct link from the card at the top of the same tab. It works on every plan and needs no setup beyond an active chatbot.
  3. Activate the chatbot if it is still draft, or the link will return a not-found page — see Activate or pause a chatbot.
  4. On a paid plan, set up Web widget as well: the embed snippet plus your allowed domains gives you chat on your own site today. See Embed the website widget.
  5. If your site runs on a listed platform, the Plugins tab is the fastest install of all — see Plugins overview.
  6. Do not paste provider tokens into an inert card. Nothing is saved, and a token in a browser field is a token you have exposed for no benefit.
  7. Re-check this tab later. When messaging is enabled, the cards become connectable — you do not need a new chatbot, new knowledge, or a new plan.

What you will see

An information notice above a grid that is still fully rendered, with each card disabled and labelled Coming soon. The statistics row above the grid is hidden while nothing is connectable. The Direct link card is never affected.

Opening a Coming soon card shows an explanatory panel where the numbered steps and credential fields would normally be. There is no Connect button to press.

What to use instead, ranked

  1. Direct link. Available on every plan, zero setup, shareable in an email, a QR code, or a bio link. See Share a hosted link.
  2. Web widget. A chat bubble on your own site, on paid plans with integrations.
  3. Iframe embed. A full-page chat inside one of your own pages, which skips the widget's allowed-domains setup — see Iframe and direct link.
  4. Plugin snippet. If your site is on a platform in the Plugins list.

None of these are consolation prizes. Most Agentency chatbots serve most of their conversations through the widget and the public link.

Limits and plan notes

Messaging is off by default, and individual platforms can be switched on and off separately — so one card can say Coming soon while the others connect normally.

Plugins is a different tab with a different gate. It is the platform-snippet gallery, controlled by whether your plan includes integrations, not by the messaging rollout. Seeing Coming soon on Messaging tells you nothing about whether Plugins is available.

MCP connectors for Call Actions are another separate, usually-off feature — related in flavour, unrelated in mechanism, and not a channel at all. See MCP connector availability and What are Call Actions.

Common problems

Marketing said WhatsApp is included.

The product does support WhatsApp, and it works when the deployment has messaging enabled. This Help Center describes what your dashboard actually allows today. Both statements are true.

I upgraded to the top plan and still see Coming soon.

Upgrading unlocks integrations — the widget, the plugins, the ability to connect apps. It does not change the deployment rollout. Use the public link and the widget in the meantime, and see Upgrade or downgrade if you upgraded solely for messaging.

Will my tokens be lost when messaging is enabled?

There is nothing to lose: a Coming soon card never accepts credentials. When messaging is enabled you connect from scratch, which takes minutes.

What happens to a connected app if messaging is switched off again?

Incoming messages are accepted and dropped, so customers get no reply, and the management screens stop offering the platform. Nothing is deleted, but do not leave a messaging app as your only door.

Can I be told when it is enabled?

There is no notification for it in the dashboard. Re-check the tab, or ask through contact support.

Is my chatbot broken?

No. Test it in the dashboard's Test chatbot drawer or through the Direct link and you will see it answering normally — see Try test chat.

Common questions

Is my chatbot broken?

No. Test it in the dashboard's Test chatbot drawer or through the Direct link and it will answer normally.

Will upgrading remove the Coming soon notice?

No. Upgrading unlocks integrations. The messaging rollout is a separate, centrally controlled setting.

Should I paste my tokens now so they are ready?

No. A Coming soon card never saves credentials, so pasting a provider token only exposes it for no benefit.

Is the Plugins tab gated the same way?

No. Plugins is the platform-snippet gallery, gated by whether your plan includes integrations, not by the messaging rollout.

What happens to a connected app if messaging is switched off later?

Incoming messages are accepted and dropped, so customers get no reply. Never leave a messaging app as your only door.
