Install Agentency as an app

What it is

Agentency can be installed on your phone, tablet, or computer so it behaves like an app rather than a browser tab. You get an icon on your home screen or in your applications list, and opening it launches Agentency in its own window with no address bar and no browser toolbars.

Underneath it is still the same website with the same account and the same data. Nothing is downloaded from an app store, nothing takes up meaningful space, and there is no separate login. It is a shortcut with better manners.

When you would use it

• You check the dashboard from a phone regularly and are tired of hunting for the tab.
• You want a dedicated icon on a shared work device.
• You want the interface to use the full screen rather than losing space to browser chrome.
• You want the site to start faster on repeat visits.

If you only ever use Agentency on one desktop with a bookmark, installing changes very little. This is mostly a mobile convenience.

Where to find it

There is no install button inside Agentency. Installing is something your browser offers, using information the site publishes about itself. The wording differs by browser and none of it is under Agentency's control.

Steps

On Android (Chrome or Edge):

1. Open Agentency and sign in.
2. Open the browser menu (three dots).
3. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
4. Confirm. The Agentency icon appears on your home screen.

On iPhone or iPad (Safari):

1. Open Agentency in Safari. This does not work in Chrome on iOS.
2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Confirm the name and tap Add.

On desktop (Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium browser):

1. Open Agentency.
2. Look for a small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install Agentency.
3. Confirm. Agentency opens in its own window and appears in your applications list.

Firefox and desktop Safari do not offer installation in the same way. Use a bookmark there instead; nothing is lost except the icon.

What you will see

The installed app opens full screen in portrait, with no address bar. The icon is the Agentency mark, and on Android it adapts to whatever icon shape your launcher uses. While it starts, you get a brief branded splash screen rather than a white page.

Links you follow that lead somewhere outside Agentency open in your normal browser rather than inside the app window, so you cannot accidentally end up browsing the whole internet inside a window with no back button.

Everything else is identical to the website. The same sidebar, the same pages, the same account.

What works offline — and what does not

Installing brings a small amount of offline capability, and it is important to be honest about how small.

Works offline: pages you have already visited may still load from a local copy, along with their images, fonts, and styling. Enough that the app opens rather than showing a browser error.

Does not work offline: anything that needs live data. Your chatbots, conversations, knowledge, customers, analytics, and billing all come from the server, and none of it is stored on your device.

This is a deliberate security decision, not a missing feature. Dashboard pages are never cached. If they were, a page full of your customers' conversations could be replayed from a shared device after you signed out. So the rule is simple: signed-in data is never kept on the device.

The practical result is that offline mode is a graceful failure, not a working app. You will not lose data or see a broken screen — you will see a clear page explaining the situation.

The offline screen

When you are disconnected and try to open a page that is not available locally, Agentency shows its own offline screen instead of the browser's error page.

It is headed "You are offline" with the explanation "It looks like you are not connected to the internet. Some features may not be available until the connection is restored.", followed by a short list of what to try:

• Check your internet connection
• Try refreshing the page
• Browse previously loaded content

Two buttons let you Try Again (reload) or Go Back. At the foot, a small red dot and the words Offline Mode confirm the state you are in.

There is nothing to fix on this screen. Reconnect and reload.

Limits and plan notes

• Installing is free and available on every plan. It is a browser capability, not an Agentency feature you unlock.
• There is no Agentency app in the App Store or Google Play. If you find one, it is not ours.
• Push notifications are not part of this. Installing does not make your phone buzz when a conversation arrives.
• The app is portrait-oriented and designed for phone use. On desktop it is a resizable window like any other app.
• Your session behaves the same as in the browser, including sign-out. See Sessions and sign out.
• Your saved theme applies here too, so an installed app opens in dark mode if that is your choice. See Dark mode and theme.

Common problems

There is no Install option in my browser menu.

Either the browser does not support it (Firefox, desktop Safari), or you are on iOS in a browser other than Safari, or the site has not finished loading. On iOS, use Safari and the Share menu.

I installed it and it looks exactly like the website.

That is correct. The difference is the icon, the window, and the missing address bar — not a different interface.

The app opens on the offline screen even though I have signal.

Your connection is up but cannot reach the site: captive Wi-Fi that needs a login, a VPN, or a corporate firewall. Open the same address in a normal browser tab to confirm, then fix the connection.

Everything is blank or stale after an update.

Close the app window completely and reopen it so it picks up the newest version. If it persists, open Agentency in a normal browser tab once, then return to the app.

Can I use the dashboard on a plane?

Not meaningfully. Pages may open, but every list will be empty because the data lives on the server.

How do I remove it?

Uninstall it the way you uninstall any app on that device — long-press the icon on a phone, or use your operating system's app list on desktop. Removing it does not touch your Agentency account or sign you out of the website.
