What it is
The about page at agentency.com/about explains why Agentency exists and the commitments the product is designed against. It is short, and it is the least commercial page on the site: no feature list, no prices.
It matters more than a typical about page because the commitments on it are testable. Each one shows up as behaviour you can observe in the product, so the page doubles as an explanation of why the chatbot acts the way it does.
When you would use it
Read it when you are evaluating us as a supplier rather than evaluating a feature — when you want to know what the company optimises for before you put a chatbot in front of your customers.
It is also the honest answer to "why does the chatbot say it doesn't know instead of giving me something?" That behaviour is a stated design commitment, not a limitation we are hiding.
Where to find it
Open the about page directly, or find About in the Company column of the footer on every public page. It is not in the top navigation. No account is required.
What you will see
- A hero explaining the premise: growing businesses lose real revenue in unanswered messages, and Agentency is built to stop that.
- Headline numbers, the same ones the home page shows.
- Four commitments the product is designed against:
- Grounded, or silent. The chatbot answers from your approved knowledge or says it does not know. A confident wrong answer costs more than no answer.
- Your data is yours. Your knowledge and conversations serve your own chatbot. We do not sell them. Remove a source and it is gone.
- Handoff is a feature. Knowing when to stop is part of the job. Sensitive and high-value conversations go to your team with the reason and the whole conversation attached.
- Priced to the work. You pay for the messages your chatbot sends, not for each person on your team.
- Customer quotes and a closing call to action.
How the commitments show up in the product
This is the useful part of the page, so it is worth making the link explicit:
| Commitment | What you actually see |
|---|---|
| Grounded, or silent | The chatbot declines when your knowledge has no relevant answer. Fix it by adding knowledge, not by loosening the chatbot. |
| Your data is yours | Deleting a knowledge source removes it from what the chatbot searches. Closing an account purges it. |
| Handoff is a feature | Conversations that need a person are escalated to your team with the full transcript. |
| Priced to the work | Team members are included in your plan; message credits are what you meter. See Message credits. |
The Knowledge base, Conversations, and Billing categories cover the operating detail behind each row.
Limits and plan notes
The about page makes no plan claims and lists no prices. For those, the pricing page is authoritative — see Pricing page.
For the platform's protective measures and their honest gaps, read the security page and Security page.
Common problems
I want to talk to a person rather than read the page.
Use the contact page on the public site, or Contact support if you already have an account and the question is about your account.
The page says the chatbot escalates, but mine never does.
Escalation depends on how you configured it — the instructions, actions, and handoff settings on that chatbot. The Instructions and actions category and the Conversations category cover setting it up.
Common questions
Why does my chatbot say it does not know instead of answering?
That is the first commitment on the about page working as intended. It answers from your approved knowledge or declines, because a confident wrong answer costs more than no answer.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Your knowledge and conversations exist to serve your own chatbot. Remove a source and it is gone from what the chatbot searches.
Do I pay for every teammate?
No. Plans include team members, and you pay for the messages your chatbot sends. The pricing page shows how many members each plan includes.
