Switch accounts
Open Dashboard → Accounts and pick another workspace. The dashboard reloads so two teams' data can never mix.

What it is
Switching accounts changes which workspace you are acting in. Same login, same password, same profile — different chatbots, different conversations, different customers, different credit balance.
You are always acting in exactly one workspace at a time. There is no combined view and there never will be, because a screen that mixed two customers' data together is precisely the mistake this product must not make.
Switching is a full page reload, not a quiet dropdown change. That is deliberate. A soft switch risks leaving one workspace's chatbot list on screen while another workspace's data loads underneath it. The reload guarantees a clean slate.
When you would use it
- Right after you accept an invitation, to get out of your own empty workspace and into the one that invited you.
- When you finish work in a client's workspace and want your own back.
- When Billing, Developer, or a chatbot you were expecting has "disappeared" — usually you are simply standing somewhere else.
Where to find it
Open Dashboard → Accounts from the sidebar.
Steps
- Open Dashboard → Accounts.
- Find the workspace you want. Your own is listed under My account; workspaces you joined are under Accounts I joined.
- Select Switch on that row.
- Wait for the dashboard to finish reloading. It lands on the dashboard home, not on the page you were reading.
- Confirm where you are: the sidebar shows an Acting in {account} line under your name whenever you are inside somebody else's workspace, and the Chatbots list and credit meter now belong to that workspace.
- When you are done, open Accounts again and switch back to your own.
What you will see
The Accounts page has three parts:
- My account — the workspace you own, with a count of its members and pending invitations, and a shortcut to manage them.
- Accounts I joined — every workspace that invited you and whose invitation you accepted. Each row has Switch, and Leave if you want out.
- Pending invitations — invitations addressed to your email that you have not answered yet, with Accept and Decline.
After a switch, the whole dashboard is rebuilt from scratch. Nothing cached from the previous workspace survives the reload.
How to tell where you are, at a glance
Three reliable signals, in order of how quickly you can read them:
- The "Acting in" line in the sidebar. It appears only in a foreign workspace. If it is absent, you are in your own.
- The credit meter. A client's balance rarely matches yours.
- The sidebar tabs. Billing and Developer are present only in the workspace you own.
Get into the habit of checking one of these before you do anything you cannot undo. Removing knowledge or deleting a chatbot in the wrong workspace is not recoverable, and two dashboards look identical.
What changes and what does not
Nothing about you changes when you switch. Your name, photo, theme, language, timezone, password, and two-factor setup travel with your login. Your sessions are not signed out and you are not asked to log in again.
What changes is the workspace context: chatbots, knowledge, conversations, customers, analytics, credits, channels, the widget, and the member list.
Your role can also change with the workspace. You are the owner in your own, and might be an editor in one client's and a viewer in another's — so the same button can be present in one workspace and absent in the next. That is the role talking, not a fault. See Roles and permissions.
Working in two workspaces at once
Do not. Browser tabs share one session and one active workspace, so switching in one tab quietly changes what every other tab is really talking to. The stale tab keeps showing the old screen while its next save goes somewhere else entirely.
If you must compare two workspaces side by side, use two different browsers or a private window with a separate sign-in. Otherwise: finish in one workspace, switch, then start the next.
Limits and plan notes
- Switching is free and unlimited. It is not a plan feature and it does not consume credits.
- Members do not see Billing or Developer while acting in someone else's workspace, whatever their role.
- If your membership was revoked while you were browsing that workspace, the next action fails with an access error and the app returns you to the Accounts page in your own workspace. Nothing was deleted; you simply no longer belong there.
- Team features can be turned off entirely on a private installation, in which case there is no Accounts page and you always act in your own workspace.
Common problems
My chatbots vanished after I clicked a workspace.
They belong to the other workspace. Switch back and they are all still there. Nothing was deleted — chatbots never move between workspaces.
I keep getting an access-denied message.
Your membership was revoked, or the invitation you were relying on expired. Open Accounts and pick a workspace you still belong to, or ask the owner to invite you again.
The workspace that invited me is not on the list.
Either you never accepted the invitation — check Pending invitations on the same page — or it was sent to a different email address than the one you are signed in with. An invitation is bound to the exact address it was sent to. See Invite and manage members.
I switched and landed on the dashboard home instead of the page I was reading.
That is intended. The page you were on belonged to the previous workspace and its address might not even exist in the new one.
Nothing seems to change when I switch.
Let the reload finish. If you have several tabs open, close the stale ones — they are showing snapshots from before the switch.
Does switching affect my two-factor or password?
No. Security belongs to your login and follows you everywhere. Only the workspace changes.
Common questions
How do I tell which workspace I am in right now?
The sidebar shows an "Acting in" line under your name whenever you are inside someone else's workspace. If it is absent, you are in your own. The credit meter is the other quick giveaway.
Does switching change my password or two-factor setup?
No. Security belongs to your login and travels with you. Switching changes only which workspace's chatbots, conversations, customers and credits you are working with.
Can I keep two workspaces open in two browser tabs?
Not safely. Tabs share one session and one active workspace, so switching in one tab quietly changes what the other is talking to. Use two browsers if you truly need both at once.
Why did switching take me to the dashboard home?
Switching is a full reload that lands on the dashboard home on purpose. The page you were reading belonged to the previous workspace and may not exist in the new one.
I keep getting an access-denied message after switching. Why?
Your membership was revoked or the invitation expired, so the workspace is no longer yours to open. The app returns you to Accounts — pick a workspace you still belong to.
