Appearance, language, and timezone
Set theme, dashboard language, timezone, and 12- or 24-hour time on Settings → Appearance. All four follow you.

What it is
Appearance is the single home for how the signed-in dashboard looks to you and how times and dates are written. Four settings live here:
- Theme — Light or Dark.
- Interface language — Arabic, English, or Spanish.
- Timezone — the zone every date and time on the dashboard is displayed in.
- Time format — 12-hour or 24-hour.
All four belong to you as a person and follow you across devices. None of them changes anything a visitor sees.
When you would use it
- The dashboard is in the wrong language.
- Timestamps on conversations look several hours out.
- You want dark mode.
- You keep misreading "01:05" and want "1:05 PM", or the reverse.
Where to find it
Open Dashboard → Settings → Appearance.
Steps
- Open Dashboard → Settings → Appearance.
- Wait for the page to load your real preferences. If you see a retry card instead of a form, retry before touching anything — see the warning below.
- In the Theme card, choose Light or Dark. This applies immediately with no Save. See Dark mode and theme.
- In the preferences card, set your interface language.
- Set your timezone. Choose the zone you actually work in, not the one your company is registered in.
- Choose 12-hour or 24-hour time. A sample time previews the difference — 1:05 PM against 13:05.
- Save. The page refreshes so menus, dates, and text direction all match the new choice.
What you will see
Two cards. The first is the theme picker, which saves on selection. The second holds language, timezone, and time format, and has its own Save button.
Choosing Arabic switches the whole dashboard to a right-to-left layout: the sidebar moves, text aligns to the right, and icons and arrows mirror. English and Spanish stay left-to-right. This is a full layout change, not just a translation, so the page reloads to apply it cleanly.
If your preferences cannot be loaded, you get a retry card instead of an editable form. This matters more than it looks — a form seeded with defaults would show English and UTC, and saving it would overwrite whatever you had actually chosen. The editor only appears once your real values are in hand.
What timezone actually changes
Timezone is a display setting. It changes how timestamps are written on your screen and nothing else.
It does not change:
- when your billing period starts or renews;
- when message credits reset;
- when a scheduled sitemap crawl runs;
- what any other member of your workspace sees.
Two people in the same workspace, one in Riyadh and one in Madrid, looking at the same conversation, will each see it in their own zone. Both are right; it is the same moment described twice. This is worth remembering before an argument about which of you is reading the analytics correctly — see Why your dashboard days start when they do.
What language does and does not change
Changes: the dashboard interface — menus, buttons, labels, settings, error messages.
Does not change:
- What your chatbot says to visitors. That is set per chatbot, under that chatbot's message and language settings. A dashboard in Arabic and a chatbot answering in English is a perfectly normal combination. See Chatbot messages and language.
- Your knowledge. Sources are stored in whatever language you wrote them.
- This Help Center, which is published in English.
Limits and plan notes
- All four settings are available on every plan, including Free, and none of them costs credits.
- They belong to your login, not to a workspace. Switching into a colleague's workspace keeps your language, theme, and timezone. See The Accounts list.
- Three interface languages are offered: Arabic, English, Spanish. Arabic is right-to-left.
- Your saved choices travel to any device you sign in on, including an installed app.
Common problems
Saving would reset me to English and UTC.
You are looking at the load-error card, not the form. Retry first so the editor holds your real values, then change what you meant to change.
The chatbot still answers in the old language.
Visitor language is a chatbot setting, not a personal one. Open the chatbot and change it there.
Timestamps are still wrong after setting my timezone.
Refresh the page. If they are still out, check the zone you picked is genuinely yours — "GMT+3" and a named city zone behave differently across daylight-saving changes, so prefer the city.
Arabic made part of the layout look odd.
Report the page. Right-to-left is fully supported and a mirrored element that looks wrong is a bug worth telling us about.
My colleague sees different times on the same conversation.
Expected. Each of you sees your own timezone. The underlying moment is identical.
I changed the language and now I cannot find this page again.
Settings → Appearance in your language. If you are lost, switching back to English from the same card is always the fastest way to re-orient.
Common questions
Does Arabic change the Help Center too?
No. Help articles stay in English. The dashboard, including this settings page, switches to a full right-to-left Arabic layout.
Does timezone change when my credits reset?
No. Credit periods follow billing. Timezone only changes how times are written on your screen, and each teammate sees their own.
Why does the page sometimes show Retry instead of the form?
Your preferences could not be loaded. A form seeded with English and UTC defaults could overwrite your real settings, so the editor waits.
My chatbot still answers in the old language.
Visitor language is a per-chatbot setting, not a personal one. A dashboard in Arabic with a chatbot answering in English is perfectly normal.
