Plans and what you get
Five plans scale credits, chatbots, knowledge, actions and seats. Here is what actually changes as you move up a tier.

What it is
Agentency has five plans. Rather than list prices here — where they would go stale — this article explains what changes as you move up, so you can work out which tier you need. For the current prices and exact numbers, open the pricing page, which reads them live from the billing catalogue, or open Settings → Billing, which shows the caps on your own account.
Five things scale with your plan:
- Message credits. Each answer your chatbot gives spends credits at its AI model's rate — one credit on the default 1X Agentency AI model, up to 12 on a 12X model. This is the number that runs out first for most accounts. See Message credits.
- How many chatbots you can have. Free is one. Paid tiers go up from there.
- How much knowledge each chatbot can hold. Free is a few hundred kilobytes — enough for a page or two of text. Paid tiers are measured in megabytes, which is where uploaded files and crawled pages actually fit.
- How many Call actions and instructions each chatbot can have. Free has instructions but no actions, so a Free chatbot can answer but cannot book, look up, or hand off.
- Team seats. Free is one seat, which is you. You need a paid plan before you can invite anyone.
Two switches are not numbers.
AI model choice. On Free every chatbot answers with the Agentency AI model, which is 1X — one credit per reply. Paid plans can pick a different live model per chatbot, plus an optional separate testing model; each model shows its multiplier in the picker.
Integrations. On Free you can share your chatbot's hosted link and nothing else. The website widget, the WordPress and storefront plugins, and the messaging apps all need a paid plan. This is the single most common upgrade reason, so check it before you promise a client an embedded bubble.
When you would use it
Read this before you upgrade, and before you promise a client a widget, a second chatbot, or a fifth teammate.
Where to find it
Open Dashboard → Settings → Billing. Only the account owner sees this page.
Steps
- Open Dashboard → Settings → Billing.
- Read your current plan name at the top, then the meters underneath it for credits, chatbots, and knowledge. Those meters are your real limits, not the marketing page's.
- Work out which limit is actually blocking you. "I cannot embed the widget" is the integrations switch. "I cannot add another chatbot" is the chatbot cap. "My upload was rejected" is the knowledge cap. They have different fixes.
- If a higher tier fixes it, choose the upgrade card. Billing is prorated, so you pay the difference for the rest of the current period rather than starting over.
- If only one limit is short, look at the add-ons on the same page first — extra chatbots, extra knowledge, and credit packs are usually cheaper than a whole tier. See Extra chatbots and extra knowledge.
- Switch the monthly/yearly toggle to compare. Yearly is discounted against twelve monthly payments but does not raise any cap — you get the same limits for less money, not more room.
- If Support granted you a complimentary plan, Billing shows its own badge. That grant sets your limits until it expires, regardless of what you would otherwise be paying.
What you will see
Billing lists your current plan, live meters for each metered limit, the add-ons, and upgrade cards for the tiers above you. A complimentary grant shows a distinct badge. Team members do not see this page at all — see Why only the owner sees Billing.
Limits and plan notes
Every tier is self-service; there is no "contact sales" tier to negotiate. Seat counts include the owner, so a one-seat plan means you cannot invite anybody — the seat is already yours. Caps apply per chatbot where the limit says "per chatbot" (knowledge size, actions, instructions) and per account where it does not (credits, seats).
Downgrading does not delete anything, but it does stop you exceeding the new, lower limits — read Upgrade or downgrade before you drop a tier if you are over them.
Common problems
I upgraded and still cannot embed the widget.
Check two things. First, that Billing shows the paid plan on the owner account — if you are signed in as a member, Billing is hidden and nothing will look like it changed. Second, reopen Chatbots → your chatbot → Integrations → Web; the tab reads your entitlements when it loads, so a tab left open from before the upgrade still shows the old state.
A plan has no yearly option.
A tier without an annual price cannot show the toggle. Monthly still works normally.
My meter says I am under the limit but an action still failed.
Meters are per account for credits and seats, but per chatbot for knowledge, actions, and instructions. You can be well under your account total and still be at the ceiling on one chatbot. Open that specific chatbot to see its own numbers.
Common questions
Where do I find the current prices?
On the pricing page and on Settings → Billing. Both read live from the billing catalogue, so they are always current — which is why figures are not repeated in help articles.
What is the most common reason to upgrade?
Integrations. The free tier shares a hosted link only; the website widget, the site plugins and the messaging apps all need a paid plan. Check that before promising anyone an embedded bubble.
Does yearly billing raise any limit?
No. Yearly is a discount against twelve monthly payments. You get the same limits for less money, not more room.
Can I combine two plans?
No — one subscription plan at a time. Add-ons stack on top of it, so you can raise a single limit without changing tier.
What is the difference between plans, credits and add-ons?
The plan sets every recurring limit. Credits are the answers you spend from inside those limits. Add-ons raise one limit — chatbots, knowledge, or a one-time credit top-up — without moving tier.

How message credits work
Each answer spends credits at its AI model's rate: 1X is one credit, up to 12X. Plan credits expire each period; pack credits never do.
Chatbot and knowledge limits
The chatbot cap is per account; the knowledge limit is per chatbot and counts extracted text, not file size.
Extra chatbots and extra knowledge
Add-ons raise one limit without changing plan. Two are monthly subscriptions, one is a one-time credit top-up.
Upgrade or downgrade
Switch plan from Settings → Billing. Nothing is deleted on a downgrade, but everything over the new caps is frozen.
