Verify your email
Confirm your address from the link we send you, or resend it from the yellow banner at the top of the dashboard.

What it is
When you create an Agentency account with an email address, we send a message to that inbox containing a verification link. Opening the link proves the mailbox is really yours and marks your address as confirmed.
Verification matters for one practical reason: your email address is the recovery route for your entire account. Password resets, security notices, and workspace invitations all go there. If the address has a typo in it, you will not discover this at the moment you most need it — you will discover it the day you forget your password.
When you would use it
- Right after signing up, when the dashboard shows a yellow bar asking you to verify.
- When the verification email never arrived and you need another one.
- When you clicked an old link and it did not work.
- When you are checking whether your account is verified at all.
If you signed in with Google, your address arrives already confirmed by Google and there is nothing for you to do here. See Sign in with Google.
Where to find it
Two places, depending on how you got here:
- The verification banner at the top of the dashboard, which appears whenever your address is unconfirmed.
- The
/verify-emailpage, which is where the "resend" flow lives and where you land if you follow a link to it.
Steps
- Sign up, or sign in to an account that is not yet verified.
- Open your email. Look for a message from Agentency with a verification link.
- Select the link. It opens in your browser and confirms your address.
- You land back on the dashboard with a green notice: "Your email address has been verified. Thank you!" Select Done to dismiss it.
- Confirm the yellow banner is gone. If it is, you are verified.
If no email arrived:
- Check the spam or junk folder first. This is the answer most of the time.
- Go to the dashboard. On the yellow banner, select Resend link. (Or open
/verify-emailand select Resend verification email.) - You will see "A new verification link is on its way. Check your inbox (and spam folder)."
- Wait a minute or two before trying again — resends are rate-limited, and hammering the button will not make the message arrive faster.
What you will see
Before verifying, a yellow warning bar sits at the top of the dashboard: "Please verify your email address to secure your account." with a Resend link button beside it. The bar is present on every dashboard page until you verify.
Right after verifying, the yellow bar is replaced by a green success notice with a Done button. That notice is one-time; dismiss it and it will not come back.
On the /verify-email page you get a card headed "Verify your email" with the explanation "We've sent a verification link to your inbox. Click it to activate your account." and a Resend verification email button.
One quirk worth knowing: sending yourself a new link requires you to be signed in. If you open /verify-email while signed out — a different device, or a session that expired — the page tells you "Sign in to send yourself a new verification link" and offers a sign-in button instead of a resend button. That is expected, not a fault.
Does anything stop working if I do not verify?
Today, no. The banner is a reminder, not a lock. You can create chatbots, add knowledge, and share links with your address still unconfirmed.
That is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight, and it is not a promise for all time — enforcement is a setting the product can turn on. Treat verification as something to finish now while it is easy, not something to skip because nothing is currently blocked.
What genuinely does depend on the address being real and reachable, verified or not:
- Password reset. The reset link goes to this mailbox and nowhere else. See Reset your password.
- Team invitations. Invites are sent to an address; a wrong one silently invites nobody.
- Security notices about sign-ins and account changes.
If the address itself is wrong
Verification confirms the address you signed up with. It cannot change it.
The email on your profile is read-only — Agentency has no self-service email-change form. If you typed the address incorrectly at signup, verification will never succeed, because the message is going somewhere you cannot read. Your route is to create a new account with the correct address and, if you need the old workspace, invite the new address into it. See Change your name or email.
Limits and plan notes
- Verification links expire. An old link from a message you found weeks later will not work; request a fresh one.
- A link can only verify the account it was issued for. Opening it while signed in as somebody else will not work.
- Resends are rate-limited to a handful per hour. This protects your inbox from being used to spam someone, and it is not adjustable.
- Following an already-used link is harmless. It simply reports the address as already verified.
- Verification is per login, not per workspace. Verifying once covers you in every workspace you belong to.
Common problems
The email never arrives.
In order: check spam; confirm the address on Settings → Account is spelled correctly; wait two minutes and resend once; try again later if your mail provider is slow. Corporate mail filters are the most common silent culprit — if you have a personal address you can test with, that will tell you quickly whether the problem is your mail server.
The link says it has expired.
Links do not last forever. Sign in and use Resend link, then open the new message promptly.
I clicked the link and nothing seems to have happened.
Look at the top of the dashboard. Verification is confirmed by the green notice and by the yellow banner disappearing, not by a separate confirmation page.
The banner is still there after I verified.
Reload the dashboard once so it picks up the change. If the banner survives a reload, you may have verified a different account — check which address is shown on Settings → Account.
I opened /verify-email and there is no resend button.
You are signed out. The page will offer a sign-in button; sign in and the resend button appears.
I signed up with Google and I am being asked to verify.
Unusual. Check whether you also created a separate email-and-password account with the same address at some point — that would be a second login, and it is the one asking. See Sign-in options.
Common questions
Does anything stop working if I never verify?
Not today — the banner is a reminder, not a lock. But password resets and invitations all rely on that mailbox, so finish it while it is easy.
The email never arrived. What should I check?
Spam first, then the spelling of the address on Settings → Account, then resend once and wait a minute. Corporate mail filters are the usual silent culprit.
Why is there no resend button on the page?
Sending yourself a new link requires a signed-in session. Opened while signed out, the page offers a sign-in button instead.
The link says it expired.
Verification links do not last forever. Sign in, use Resend link on the banner, and open the fresh message promptly.
I signed in with Google — do I need to verify?
No. Google has already confirmed the address. If you are being asked, you probably also created a separate email-and-password login on the same address.
